Green Communities Partnership
The goal of the Green Communities Partnership is to transform the way the country thinks about, designs and builds affordable homes. It's the first national green building program focused on low-cost housing. Bank of America and Green Communities first joined forces on a five-year $550 million initiative to build more than 8,500 environmentally friendly affordable homes across the country.
In 2006, we financed $97 million in green construction projects and rehabilitation of multi-family buildings in California, Maryland, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Green Communities is led by The Enterprise Foundation, The Enterprise Social Investment Corporation and the National Resources Defense Council, and offers grants, loans, tax-credit equity, training and technical assistance to give developers and builders the resources they need to bring green projects to life.
