An Initiative for Associates and Mother Nature
Through its Hybrid Vehicle Reimbursement Program, Bank of America offers its U.S.-based associates a way to reduce gas consumption, lower commuting costs and reduce carbon emissions. Associates who purchase a new hybrid vehicle are eligible for a $3,000 reimbursement from the bank, making these fuel-efficient vehicles more affordable.
The program was piloted in Boston, Charlotte and Los Angeles before it was rolled out nationally in February 2007. More than 2,000 associates have participated in this program to date.
"I wanted a hybrid," said John Arnott, a Bank of America associate. "But the difference in price between a hybrid and a conventional car was something to really think about. The reimbursement program made it an easy decision."
