Awards and Recognition

2008 Natural Resources Defense Council Award
The Natural Resource Defense Council is one of the leading environmental organizations. In April 2008, the council recognized Bank of America's efforts in addressing climate change by presenting an award to Chair and CEO Ken Lewis. At the awards event, Mr. Lewis announced Bank of America's adoption of The Carbon Principles. These principles are an important set of guidelines that'll help advisors and lenders, who lend to power companies, evaluate and address carbon risks associated with a project's financing.
2008 City of San Diego Climate Protection Champion Award
Mayor Jerry Sanders and the City of San Diego, awarded Bank of America the Climate Protection Champion Award for strides to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We were honored to be one of three companies selected for an award. In January, Bank of America presented $500,000 in grants to support local sustainable efforts of three San Diego nonprofits, including a new clean technology business cluster, the development of policy and grassroots solutions to curb global warming and green building projects.
2006 Global Green USA Award
Bank of America was awarded a Green Building Design award for our commitment to environmentally smart design and construction. Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park was the highlight of the award ceremony. The eco-friendly building was noted for its energy conservation, water savings and recycled materials.
